Wichita, Kansas — Un hombre de 63 años perdió la vida la tarde del domingo tras verse involucrado en un accidente de un solo vehículo en el noreste de la ciudad, informaron autoridades locales.
El incidente ocurrió alrededor de las 5:33 p.m. en las inmediaciones de la calle 24th Norte y la calle 143rd Este, cuando oficiales del Departamento de Policía de Wichita respondieron a un reporte de un vehículo volcado.
Al llegar al lugar, los agentes encontraron una camioneta SUV Ford de color dorado volcada dentro de una zanja a un costado de la vía. Personal del Departamento de Bomberos de Wichita trabajó para rescatar al conductor, quien era el único ocupante del vehículo. Sin embargo, fue declarado muerto en la escena.
La víctima fue identificada como Gregory Curry, de 63 años y residente de Wichita.
De acuerdo con la investigación preliminar, el vehículo se salió de la carretera, ingresó a la zanja y posteriormente volcó antes de detenerse.
Las autoridades indicaron que el caso continúa bajo investigación para determinar las causas exactas del accidente.
