In Grant County, Latinos are the majority, but the health care system is not designed for them. However, hope arises from the community itself.
In southwest Kansas, Latino communities face a pattern: higher rates of diabetes, obesity, and heart disease; lower rates of insurance coverage; fewer doctors who speak their language; and a pervasive fear that seeking help could cost them everything.
